Bachelor of Mass Media

Mass media means mass media are newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet. The general public typically relies on the mass media to provide information technology that is intended to reach a mass audience. It is the primary means of communication used to reach the vast majority of the general public. The most common platforms for BMM is political issues, social issues, entertainment, and news in pop culture. The University of Mumbai introduced Bachelor of Mass Media in 20002001 We started this course at Mumbra and Dombivli Dist Thane in the academic year 2010 2011.


It is full time course consisting of 36 subjects. The duration of the courses of six semesters spread over three years. Numbers of students per batch shall be consists of not more than 60 students.


1. Candidates for being eligible for admission to the degree of BMM shall have passed XII standard examination of Maharashtra Board of Higher secondary Education or equivalent from Science, Arts or Commerce stream.

2. No college shall conduct any entrance test in any form and the admissions are purely on merit basis dully following the reservation policy as per the norms of the Governments of Maharashtra. While drawing the merit list, weight-age has to be given to students from Arts (50%), Commerce [25%] and Science [25%) streams at XII standard

Scheme of Examination - Credit Based Evaluation System -

The performance of the learners shall be evaluated into two components. The learner's performance shall be assessed by internal assessment with 25% marks in the first second component. The allocation of marks for the internal assessment and Semester component by conducting the Semester End Examinations with 75% marks in the End Examinations are as shown below:
