India Aims to Create Over 10 Lakh Jobs with Rs 24 Lakh Crore Electronics Manufacturing Capability  

The Indian government has set an ambitious goal of increasing its electronics manufacturing capability to Rs 24 lakh crore by 2025-26, as announced by the Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar. This move is expected to create over 10 lakh jobs in the country. Speaking at an event in Bengaluru, the minister said that the current generation of students is the luckiest in independent India’s history, as the country is at an inflection point in its development.  

Chandrasekhar highlighted that there are more than 90,000 startups in India, including 110 unicorns, in which young Indians are playing a significant role. He emphasized the importance of training young Indians in industry-relevant future-ready skills, with at least 15 lahks young Indians from Karnataka set to receive this training.  

The Indian government has been actively promoting electronics manufacturing in the country through its “Make in India” initiative. This initiative aims to boost domestic manufacturing, reduce import dependence, and create job opportunities in the country. With the growing demand for electronics in India and the increasing focus on local manufacturing, the country is poised to become a global manufacturing hub for electronics.  

The government has taken several steps to boost electronics manufacturing in the country, such as offering incentives for local manufacturing, setting up electronic manufacturing clusters, and launching schemes to promote electronics manufacturing. The government has also been working on strengthening the electronics supply chain and creating a favorable business environment for electronics manufacturing in the country.

The industry is expected to grow further in the coming years, with an increasing focus on local manufacturing and the growing demand for electronics in the country. The government’s ambitious goal of increasing electronics manufacturing capabilities to Rs 24 lakh crore by 2025-26 is expected to give a significant boost to the industry and create job opportunities for young Indians.
